Two days ago, I presented my thesis proposal in front of
three major professors. They’ve all had professional experience in animation,
from Disney to Dreamworks, and even Sony Pictures. I was nervous for weeks
about it, but when it finally came time to present it, the nerves were gone.
Strange, isn’t it? Maybe it’s because I’ve met with most of them before,
several times, about my proposal.
Lucky for me, I passed! Yay! Which means that I can register
for more classes next semester, and that I can finally start working on my
thesis full out, which, for those in my major, consists of me creating one of
those “The Art of…” books as if I’m designing the art of an animated movie that’s
being produced.
I’ll post more artwork relating to it soon, but for now I
want to post one of my assignments, a bedroom I designed, from my layout class:
Here are some concept sketches and previous versions of it:
The assignment was to design it so the gender and favorite
sport of the kid would be clear. Viewers should also be able to tell what part
of the house the bedroom is in, the time era, season, and location (state,
country, etc.) of this room. Can you tell any of it?
